Click a tile to slide it, or use the arrow keys. Clicking a tile in line with the gap slides the whole row or column. Shortest finds a route with the fewest possible moves, which can take a while on a hard 4 × 4 and is not offered beyond that. Quick finds a good route almost instantly, but not necessarily the shortest.
